Be Here To Love Me is a new retrospective on the music of Townes Van Zandt.
Townes was one of the more interesting characters from the Texas folk music scene. He was born into wealth, died in poverty, and in between he was the consummate picture of a tortured artist. He wrestled with his demons for forty years, and died a bit drunk, a bit low, and a lot crazy. The music he left behind will always stand timeless, though. It's stripped down, emotional, and a lot of it sounds like it was recorded on a street corner with just him and a guitar.
Where I lead me, I will travel
Where I need me I will call me
I'm no fool, i'll be ready
God knows I will be
And in the meentime make a little money
And buy a little mercy.
