Well, the time is nearly upon us.
Tomorrow (Wednesday), I will pack and head down to the Charm City (Baltimore) to help set up for the latest installment of the Convention of Otaku Generation (Otakon).
I've been involved with the convention in one capacity or another just about since its inception, and most of those years have been spent either co-running or outright running the Live Action Role Playing (LARP) activity. It's fun, but it's also quite draining; I and my partners in crime will likely work longer and harder than we do at our day jobs (well, all except
electroweak, but he's funny that way).
I've been running myself ragged trying to get everything ready, and I can finally say that all the major things are out of the way. There are still some piddling little details to be finished up prior to the start on Friday, but I should easily be able to take care of them tomorrow and/or Thursday. Which means I can (in theory) actually get some sleep over the next couple of nights. Here's hoping...
I'm looking forward to how this year's LARP goes, especially the part where [REDACTED] happens, which should cause the [REDACTED] to go completely [REDACTED], especially when [SOOOO REDACTED].
It should be a good time. When it's all over I might even tell you about it...
