SCA Quandry (again)

There's a personal challenge that I've been meaning to set myself for at least a year and a half, probably much longer - to enter every Kingdom A&S competition in the SCA for a year (from rowany festival to rowany festival).  Last year I was busy, and the A&S topics were uninspiring.  This year, I find the A&S topics even worse, but I'd like to ( Read more... )

Jousting equipment - how about a detachable maunche (with of course the whole gown to go with it!) as a favor for the jousting knight?

A useful hunting thing - how about a 12th century set of gloves? Any sort of cording that could be used for hawking equipment - I'm pretty sure that women did falconry in the 12th century? Ferret basket? :D Hood? Did women go on the hunt in the 12th century?

Seal - I'd ask for clarification if they meant a document seal or the word seal to mean the device itself? If it is pretty general, perhaps something like the lovely embroidered roundels you made for me? How about just a pretty generic seal and then the bulk of the research on the seal tag?

I might play a silly game with the word "Tudor" and see how far back I could trace that family tree. According to a pedigree I found on familysearch.org (looking for Owen Tudor in the Pedigree file) - The first Tudor in that royal line name is Mrs. Tudur Hen born around 1235 and married to Hen, son of Gronwy Ap Ednyfed. Hen was born in Penmyndd, Bangor, Anglesey, Wales and his father in Trecastell, Llangoed, Anglesey, Wales. Perhaps there is something there you could 'play' with. Maybe you can play it as an 'ancestral' jewel or something.

Maybe, indeed seeing the list of things you really want to do would be helpful!
