Don't get me wrong, Manu is the man of the hour and he freakin' deserves it. The guy is all over the place making important shots and amazing passes, and he has been the key to San An's big victories in both games thus far.
BUT, the cornerstone of San Antonio's success is and has been Tim Duncan. The guy is averaging double-digits in rebounds and points for both games. He's the reason Detroit can't get too wrapped up trying to defend Ginobli.
Duncan is a family guy with character. He's not loud or flashy.
He lacks the scrappiness of Steve Nash or the loud, fatness of Shaq. Both of those flashy, exciting players are watching the finals from home right now.
He has never cheated on his wife and been accused of rape like Kobe. Kobe didn't even make the playoffs.
Unlike Lebron, he got a college education. Lebron ended his season with the phrase, "there's always next year."
What I like about San Antonio is they represent that basketball has become a world sport, and it can be a classy sport. Tim Duncan is the centerpiece of a classy team that plays amazing ball.
