This life isn't easy

I walked out the door this morning @ 7 to go to my $10/hr weekend retail job & saw 2 large dogs/coyotes running away from the goat pen. I ran over & my fears were quickly confirmed. Stormy, due to kid in February, had been drug underneath the fence and killed. Her sister Drizzle, due to kid in May, was alive, but would not get up. She had been hamstrung & had other injuries from which she would not recover. I don't want to be graphic, but it wasn't pleasant. I did the humane thing and put her out of her pain. Bea assisted me and we buried them both. When we went to care for the other animals, we found that the rabbit shelter had been torn open. All of the rabbits are now missing toes. I have antibiotics on hand to treat them, but I'm probably going to have to put them down also. I am probably also not employed at Lowe's anymore. Oh well.
3 lessons - the fence is never too strong or too high, farm animals do not get names, & listen to the dogs (they're not always barking @ the cats.)
