Tyler started his nursery school 2 weeks ago. Now whenever I mention this to anybody, the first reaction would be “What? How old is he? Isn’t he too young?!?” First of all, ty is attending a nursery school, which looks more like a playground with lots of learning toys and kids draw messy pictures and the teachers sing songs to them…stuffs like that. I would rather ty spend his time there; which is only twice a week (half day) compared to staying at home the whole day with Jenny. It’s good that he can socialize with other kids and learn few stuff while playing. Second of all, I dislike it when people pass comments like that, like they’re judging me as a parent. Hello it’s my kid and I think I know what’s best for him, so leave your judgments to yourself. When I told Siong about this he thinks I’m too sensitive. Well maybe I am... but just leave the judgments to yourself ok!
Me and Siong were more excited about ty first day of school than anybody. We went shopping for his snack box (Yeah they require us to bring snacks for ty. So cute!), water bottle, snacks of cos (no nuts or chocolate allowed), swimming shorts (they have water day too where the kids play with water) and others. I have a lot of fun choosing the stuffs! Too bad ty didn’t like it when we wake him up earlier that morning. So after much fussing, forcing and pleading, cranky tyler was finally ready for his first day! I was half expecting ty to cling to me but luckily he is happy when he sees the toys and little kids around. He even bade us goodbyes when we left. Can’t believe my baby is going to school already.
There are 12 kids in his class and his class is called Twinkle Toes. Most of them are Caucasians and even the teachers are ang mos. They all seem very nice.
After we left ty there both of us went back to work and I can’t help thinking about ty the whole time. I was wondering “Is he okie? Is he crying for me? Will he be alright not seeing mummy and daddy around?” It was a relief to see him when I picked him up at 12.15pm. The teacher said he’s great but there was just this incident when one of the kid in ty’s class bite his arm when they both wanted the same toy which ty was holding. My poor baby! The bite mark on ty’s arm was red and swollen and lasted quite a few days. That horrid kid! And on ty’s first day too! Luckily ty didn’t seem to remember it and doesn’t have a phobia about going to school.
Oh forgot to mention that ty looks so cute in the school uniform and he also carries the Power Ranger toddler bag which his grandfather bought for him.
