your famous friend, well, I blew him

I found some old notebooks in a drawer today, and skimming through them I realised just how much I write without ever finishing anything. All sorts of scribbled scenarios, half-formed plots and random bits of character interaction that either died in its tracks or was forgotten before it could come to anything. I found a bit of Yoshiki/Takuya I started during the summer after reading a book on quantum theory, wherein Takuya studied physics at university and lots of parallels were drawn. I might even be interested in finishing that, just because it was so weird, but a lot of the stuff I found was very wtf. Like the piece I never finished for the Valentine's Day challenge on Blug last year, which I somehow managed to twist around so I was writing Ryuk/Taro from the Death Note pilot chapter. Because their relationship was way more codependant and porny than Ryuk's relationship with Light. I mean, Taro spent all of puberty with Ryuk constantly hanging around! [/pervert]

Also, I realised that I've got approximately fifty A4 pages filled with abortive attempts at Yamano-based Kurogane/Fai. Months later that six months is still lodged in my brain, and I've yet to come up with anything coherent, mostly due to trying to juxtapose too many of Kurogane and Fai's respective issues into one fic, which - considering I'm not attempting to write a freaking NOVELLA here - is difficult and confusing. :\ Perhaps I should just start posting ficlets and individual scenes, then try to synthesise something bigger from a bunch of those...

Another thing: why can't I write smut without reams of wangsty instrospection? Damn it, Kuro-tan, you're just fucking him, no need for all the mental turmoil! >_<

I think that's what I'll work on tonight.
