Reblogging for the discussion, rather than the letter and answer, both of which have a strong overtone of, "Gee I hope he's not ONE OF THEM." Various commenters make good points.
There's this thing where apparently everyone on the internet considers furries acceptable targets for "All kinks are OK except for THIS." Which I think is bullshit. When you consider that statistically at least some of the furry hate is coming from people with fetishes for borscht and elbows, it looks a bit hypocritical.
I resent all that. I grew up with a bunch of friends who were into their fursonas big-time, not primarily as a sexual fetish. They wrote fic and did art and created a ton of OCs and gushed to me about the Ninja Turtles show and Thundercats. Sex was definitely in the picture for some of them, because you don't spend so long getting to know a character without either giving them a sex life, or deciding why not. And I've also known people who were into furry fandom specifically for Doing the Sex, and they were cool too. You have to take people on an individual behavior basis, is what I'm saying.
