Now when I say "Assam," you say "Lovely."

That right there what I just drank was the best cup of tea I've had for weeks.

Also in the department of things going right, I was bored at the gym the other day and went looking for a book to read on the treadmill.  "Gee," I thought, "wouldn't it be nice if all these loaner copies of John Grisham novels and Danielle Steele novels and romance rubbish were actually books by writers I want to read?"  And ten seconds later, I came across a copy of Caitlin R. Kiernan's From Weird and Distant Shores.  Let me tell you, my evening was made.

A cloud with a silver lining: while I was painting today and listening to music, my left earbud dropped out of my left earhole for the umpteenth time, and this time fell into a tray of white latex stain.  It is a goner.  Oh, well, time to buy new headphones!  Ones that don't feel stupidly uncomfortable.  I was only using these because they were my last resort, having come with my iPod, and I tend to go through phones quickly.  I've trashed one pair by snapping off the left earmuff when I yanked on the cord by accident, another pair by breaking the cord and now a third pair via paint death.  I am Teeny Headphonesbane.

I'm sorting out what conventions I'll try to attend next year.  I have my own ideas, of course, but if you want to urge me to attend your own favorite con, now is the time.  Likewise, music festivals.

negothick, the_termagant, and I are all going to ICFA in March.  ROAD TRIP!  I intend to lay flowers at Poe's grave on the way down the Eastern Seaboard.
