Friendly foxes

Thanks to rax for the heads-up: tame foxes are available for sale as pets in the US.  I read about what was either this program or a similar setup in one of my elementary psych textbooks, the other year.  Apparently the foxes were created in a breeding program to select for the tamest, most cuddly-natured animals, and the present generations of fox

I should talk a near neighbor of mine into adopting a fox, and then we could just visit and cuddle it lots.

I once saw some snow buntings flying through these parts, and I had never seen them before, and I loved them right away, so adopted one for an icon.

Every time I see a Scottish Fold cat, I want to get it in a very gentle kitty-headlock, and check under its earflaps to make sure its ears are clean. They just look slightly worrying to my sense of cat propriety.

I never knew that about Dalmations. That goes against everything I understood, and frankly I love it. Yay, not being able to judge a book by its cover!

I'd love to read a book series about feral cats, thanks for the rec! We used to have feral cats living in the vacant lot next door, so I'm already disposed to like a book about them.

I've forgotten the details, but after Hurricane Katrina there was either a blind dog and a deaf cat, or the other way around, who just declared themselves a team, and somehow managed to get to where they could add a human to the team as well.

Now I have a warm and fuzzy feeling...

I bet the feral dogs think of themselves as self-made wolves, and go around singing traditional wolf chanteys about hunting and howling at the moon and pulling victims out of the troika.
