Not to mention that he's doing up his cufflinks before tucking his shirt into his pants. . .which seems awkward.

A Lord Dunsany story I haven't read? That man was prolific. I must read it. Even if it's non-fantasy, I gotta know. I like his style.

Also, this photo reminds me of my favorite Far Side cartoon. Have you seen it? A man getting up in the morning and looking blearily at a handwritten sign on his wall that he's obviously made himself. It says:

First Pants, THEN Your Shoes

In 1928 he wrote a one-act fantasy, an ironic comedy, "The Jest of Hahalaba" that became an historical irony: a variation on the "deal with the Devil" theme, it featured a greedy capitalist who gets a year's worth of newspapers--from the year 1929--and uses them to outguess the market. At one point he says "October 27th. . . . I'll play hell with the Stock Exchange." Pretty close call.
