What a night -- full of surprises & romance!

Bryan and I had our 3 year Anniversary Celebration last night - but it turned into so much more!

Bryan’s planning started 11 months ago with a dinner reservation at Port Edward in Algonquin. I did not know where we were going to dinner -- the whole night was a surprise to me!

When we walked into Port Edward there was a huge koi pond in the middle of the restaurant with a sail boat floating in it. As we were being seated we walked all the way around the restaurant and stopped in the hallway. We were seated in the boat! It was so romantic and cozy. I was completed excited to be sitting inside the boat at the restaurant. We finished dinner and decided to share dessert. I picked out strawberry cheese cake. Bryan suggested that I sit over on his side so that we can share dessert easier. When the dessert came, the server sat it down right in front of both of us. Sitting in the strawberry sauce was a box with a ring. I was shocked! I looked at the ring, looked at Bryan, looked at our server - I was completely taken away. And I managed to get out “Honey!” Of course I said yes! I noticed that the server had out video camera and was taping the whole thing! That will be posted later. I was so excited that I could barely eat dessert - and distracted by this beautiful ring on my finger.

After dinner was over, I thought we were going home - according to Bryan plans for the overnight part of our evening fell through. Little did I know… As we were heading home on North Avenue, Bryan says, “O ya, I have another surprise for you …” and turns into Pheasant Run. Of course I’m thinking to myself - I don’t have any bags packed. Bryan said not to worry about it. We check in and walked into our room - as we open the door there was a trail of rose petals and the room was lit up by candles. On the coffee table was a tray with a champagne bottle, glasses, and gifts! (Side Note - Bryan bought the champagne over the summer when he was in MI.) I saw a hand written note on the table and knew exactly who was responsible for this =) As I look around the room I realize that there are stairs to a loft! The stairs also had a path of rose petals and candles! The path lead to a bed that had a heart made of rose pedals. It was so romantic!! Michelle, Beth & Dan - thank you guys so much, you made my night amazing!! Bryan and I enjoyed the evening in our room - drinking champagne, eating snacks packed with love by our friends and enjoying each other’s company.

Bryan informed me last night that we were going to the Champagne Brunch that I love so much at Pheasant Run. Remember that I didn’t have an overnight bag - so I was trying to figure out how we were going to do this. Well he told me not to worry, and well he was right! He packed me and him an overnight bag last Tuesday while I was in class and gave it to Michelle to drop off at the hotel! We headed down to brunch and when we checked in the Host said, “We sat you right next to the window…” I turn around and there was Bryan and my parents and sisters! My mouth dropped!! We spent our morning eating brunch with our family. It was an amazing 24 hours with a perfect ending!

Thank you my love for a fabulous weekend and a perfect engagement. I look forward to many years with the man of my dreams.
