"If you like Pina Coladas..."
I am incredibly bored by this season. The only thing holding it together for me is Eric and Pam, and after this week it seems like they will be distancing themselves from one another, so I won't even have that.
Despite the fact that they have cut down the storylines, and the secondary characters are in it a bit less, the storylines they do have going on just aren't moving anywhere. The Authority arc isn't working for me, because it's the same scene every week. At least Eric and Bill got out of there in this episode, but it didn't really move things along. I mean RUSSELL EDGINGTON is on the loose, guys! He wants to eat the human race! GO FIND HIM. WHERE IS THE SUSPENSE?!
My other big issue is the lack of Eric. After a whole season with piss-poor amnesiac Eric, I expected a bit more this year! His scenes thus far have nearly all been from other characters' points of view. He had his heart stomped on by Sookie and we still don't know how he feels about it. I don't feel emotionally connected to him at all. We know Bill is still wangsting, but for Eric, nothing! While his scene with Pam was very moving, it was moving from her perspective, not his.
I hope the hunt for Russell livens things up, because god damn it, I should not be bored during this crackfest.
