[The Sphere hovers over Shigure, who is apparently lying down under a tree]

It came up the other day, so where's everyone from? And does anybody have a book or five I can borrow?

A planet called Auldrant. Annndd, I haven't seen anything to read around here at all, actually. Unless you're interested in food labels.

I'm bored. What's it like?

It's all I've ever known, so I don't know what to compare it too. There's two countries; Malkuth and Kimlasca-Lanvaldear, and then Daath. There's been a lot of upheaval lately, with the end of the Score, but I think things are on a good path, now.

... that's three countries.

No, Daath is an autonomous state. You could think of it as the headquarters for the Order of Lorelei.

You know I have no clue of what you're talking about, right?

You were the one asking about entirely different worlds; were you expecting it to all make sense immediately, or did you just not really want to know?

I wanna know, but you can't just start throwing names at me. You've gotta give me some background "I'm from a planet called Auldrant, it has two countries and one autonomous state" Then you describe the planet and tell me what the hell "the Score" is and what is the Order of Lorelei. Because when you just start throwing names out like that I don't understand anything.

That's more of a lecture than a conversation. If you want to know something, just ask. There's no way for me to know what you don't know; I wasn't sure you'd even know what a country is.

The Order of Lorelei was an organization dedicated to reading and protecting the Score, and it was often a neutral party in the tension between Malkuth and Kimlasca. The Score is sort of... the history and future of the world and everyone on it. It could tell you everything from who would win a war and how, to when someone would be born and what they would be named.

Manga?

Fiction. I can imagine how the story went.

Can you? What's your guess?

Someone decided to take the Score for their own, selfish purposes. Then there was probably a war or something, and in the end people realized the Score shouldn't exist on the first place.

Not quite. Though it did end with us decided not to use the Score anymore.

There must've been epic traveling at some point.
