pfft valentines day
Valentines day does NOT to me make me happy in general. If a person loves you they shouldn't need some arbitrary day to shower you with gifts they should give you small things every day, not always a gift as such but small things like cleaning the dishes or buying you a soda when you get gas. Love isn't a one day thing it's an every day thing. For me love is holding you for what seems like half an hour when you are hurting from therapy. Love isn't a holiday it's an emotion that if it's not there in the every day it's not there. Another reason I dislike valentines day is that we are celebrating something that isn't even really as such good to celebrate. Don't believe me Here's an article on the origins of this day. All that said if you feel that you. being from modern western culture, need to fulfill some expectation then have at it enjoy giving cards and flowers and making sure those people who are special to you know they are, just make sure you are also doing the same the other 365(it's a leap year) days this year.
