#1) Me... not an Obama fan. Sure... I'll be OK with him as Prez... be he's not >MY< guy. My guy was Kucinich... for the very obvious political reason that he had the Hottest spouse. I prefer Clinton over Oboma just a little bit, because I think Oboma has invested too much political capital in the idea of "non-partisan cooperation". For the last few decades, non-partisan cooperation has meant conservatives getting their way while spineless liberals buckle under. Fuck that noise.

#2) Current economic environment. The current economic meltdown is explicitly because of a lack of regulation of "artistic" and "creative" high finance, which happened specifically because of Republican ideology (Regulating people with money BAD! Regulating the behavior of the un-moneyed, GOOD!) Welfare to poor people is bad, but modifying interest rates (which costs me and the $$$) and public bailouts of the gambling habits of the rich is OK? Nary a voter is going to shed a tear because the estate tax that effects the top .1% of the nation's households is being adjusted for inflation, rather then removed from existence. "Soak the rich" is a perfectly ethical strategy when we've had 8 years of a political system that gives the rich a free pass.

#3) Capital Gains Tax. There are people who spend all their time researching and deciding how to invest their money. That's cool by me, but that's a JOB. Why should they pay any lower tax rate on their earnings than a work-a-day Joe on an assembly line or Jane standing at a Star Bucks' kiosk? The idea that 'investment' is a superior economic activity that needs to be given tax breaks over people who MAKE SHIT or DO SHIT is simply an expression of a cultural predisposition to granting the Rich privilege. Fuck that shit. Fuck it right in the ear.
