Saw the movie.... it was actually very good. Surprisingly good, as most critics are saying... lots of big robots, uh, transforming, and beating each others asses. They talk a lot more than the preview suggests... I was worried it was gonna be all serious and overdramatic in true michael bay style, but the guy figured out the mood of the movie, and gave the robots a lot of personality (or as Holly said: "well... one of them was black... and the others were varying degrees of white").
I wouldn't say the movie transported me back to my childhood, but what it DID do is give me an overwhelming urge to go out and buy a busted up classic bitchin camaro with racing stripes and a really grumbly engine. Carnal acts may need to be committed on the hood of said devil machine, after which time guns will be shot at bottles or stop signs.
Now that that image is in your head, have some Nietzsche:
"To predict the behavior of ordinary people in advance, you only have to assume that they will always try to escape a disagreeable situation with the smallest possible expenditure of intelligence."
"At times one remains faithful to a cause only because its opponents do not cease to be insipid."
"The surest way to corrupt a youth is to instruct him to hold in higher esteem those who think alike than those who think differently."
"What is good? All that heightens the feeling of power in man, the will to power, power itself. What is bad? All that is born of weakness. What is happiness? The feeling that power is growing, that resistance is overcome."
"The irrationality of a thing is no argument against its existence, rather a condition of it."
"What else is love but understanding and rejoicing in the fact that another person lives, acts, and experiences otherwise than we do…?"
