hat would be Zara.

OK, I overstate. She can move her arms. She can kick her legs. There is just not that much room between the side of the seat and her body. She also gets royally pissed whenever I place her into the seat.

I know that I mentioned it a little while ago, but I’ve done nothing in the interim. Bad mommy.

So last weekend I looked again at the Maxi-Cosi Priori: Priori Convertible Car Seat - Indian Spice
I was all set to put it in my cart and press “checkout.” But then I saw this other one, the Zeus: Combi Zeus Turn Convertible Car Seat in Grey
I was immediately intrigued. This one rotates just like my Orbit infant seat does, and I know that at least with an infant seat in the middle of the back seat of the car, rotation is very important. But I think that is more because the infant car seat actually comes out of the car on a regular basis. Whereas with the convertible seat, my understanding is that the child just goes into and out of the seat. And convertible seats are usually behind the passenger seats and not smack in the middle of the backseat, a place that is a bit harder to get to. So now I’m wondering whether rotation is at all important.

But then I remember that Orbit is coming out with their toddler car seat on February 15th, so I’ve heard. I finally found a picture of what it will look like since there isn’t one on Orbit’s website:

I can’t say that I’m loving it. Also, interestingly it will fit rear facing on the orbit car base but doesn’t fit front facing on the base. Instead you have to use braces when it becomes forward facing. And is it me or does the seat look a little strange sitting on the stroller?

And speaking of strollers, I’ve been looking at both the Quinny Zapp stroller: Quinny Zapp Stroller - Pink
and the Quinny Buzz stroller: Quinny Buzz Stroller - Sulphur
.

The Zapp is so compact and tiny, but it doesn’t have much in the way of reclining. The Buzz offers more features but isn’t quite as small as the Zapp. I think that somehow I am making a case for needing both! I am terrible, I know.

But back to the car seat. I’m going to have to make a decision soon. What do you think? Maxi-Cosi, Zeus, or Orbit? (AdoringHusband has already decided that he is going to get a Britax seat that is 10 pounds lighter than the Maxi-Cosi so that we can use it for traveling.) I’ve got to make a decision soon. Can’t keep stuffing her into this infant seat! Help!
