Why Millie Must Not Help With Baby Stuff

love my friend Millie. She is both diva and pragmatist. Geek and gourmet. Southern and liberal. She is fabulous.
But yesterday she went and did it! She really did it! As I lamented over the car seat issue, and finally came to grips with the advantage of buying an infant seat and then another seat at 22 pounds, she was compelled to tell me about The Orbit.
Why oh why did she have to tell me about this? I was all set to get the Graco or the Maxi-Cosi CabrioFix
(also her suggestion) car seat. And then I visited the Orbit site. It was all over. Even AdoringHusband knew that I was done.
“It looks very Prada-like,” he decided. “Definitely something you’d be into.”
Oh yeah, I’m into it. But did you notice that price? $900 for car seat, base and stroller!!
I think I’m having a coronary.
This doesn’t even include the bassinet attachment or toddler stroller seat!
And what about AdoringHusband? Is he supposed to get one too? Can’t I just get him a Graco? Is that cold-hearted?
So Millie, my friend, look what you’ve done to me!! I’m gonna be broke before I even have the darn baby!! Ah, the agony of it all… (And yes, of course the black…no mocha for me!)
