All this talk of movies and movie moments and crying at movies has got me a'thinkin......
Dean Cain: "It's kismet."
Shannen Doherty: "It's what???"
Dean Cain: "Kismet. It's latin for 'fate'."
Funny how I learned what 'kismet' meant from an episode of 90210.
The past 2 nights, by sheer coincidence (maybe not Monday b/c it was after all, it was Feb 14th), two romantic movies were playing on tv, and both I just happened upon by flipping channels.
Monday night movie poster byline: Love means never having to say you're sorry...
I remember watching this movie back in high school for the first time. I remember that I couldn't stop crying for 20 minutes after the movie ended (that's about 5 minutes less than I did at the end of LaBamba).
Then last night, this was on:
Movie byline: What if finding the love of your life meant giving up the life that you loved?
Up until Love, Actually came along, this was my favorite romantic-comedy of all time. It's still up there, but I don't know if it's my favorite. But it does contain two of my favorite (romantic) movie lines:
You're Everything I Never Knew...I Always Wanted...(the way Matthew Perry delivers the line is perfect)
and
To experience love you must surrender to it... (it's said in Spanish, with subtitles, but still just as memorable)
Maybe the reason they are my favorites is b/c I believe them. Deep down, past my cynicism, sarcasm, realism, etc.....I believe that love should be like it is in the movies.
Damnit I can't believe I fall for that s**t.
So here it is....
What are YOUR favorite movie lines?
