labyrinth, archer, mariner (i'm not hugging myself, i'm choking) and sirens: Botticelli still life

May 18, 2009 22:45

it's true that i'll lay with you
and equally untrue that i'll stay with you
my bed's in the mountains, the star above it at sea level
and if my beloved murderess would cast her angel breath on my candle
maybe we'd find longevity in hell

i climbed down the bedsheets to the shore
thought i'd ebb and flow for a while
but once we're out of walls i think we explode for want of doors
so the second i felt my heart again i let it sink me below the tide

i'll calcify like the Roman pillars herein, of gray will be my hues
distant and concealed, my nautical legacy like my living life
only embraced in a world of blues

huntress, what grounds do you stalk tonight
on this hallowed eve?
only the twilight's screaming sirens
two songs asking us to leave
