30-day TV meme - Day 17
Favorite mini series
This is a relatively easy one. Technically this is a movie, but when it was shown on Aussie TV for the first time, it was shown in 2 parts, which makes it a mini-series in my eyes.
My winner for this one is Merlin; starring Sam Neill, and a couple of other people of note (Miranda Richardson, Helena Botham-Carter, Martin Short...). I think it's a good series (movie, whatever), and a good depiction of the King Arthur legend. It was the first time (that I know of, at least) where the story is told from Merlin's point of view. I think Sam Neill does a good job as the wise-beyond-wise wizard. And Miranda Richardson as Queen Mab is just the epitome of awesome. Embarrassingly enough, the sex scene between Arthur and Morgan le Fay was probably the second time, I think, that I saw a sex scene and was quite fascinated by it. What are they doing, I thought? And why am I finding it pleasant to watch? There was a running joke amongst friends in high school about my watching that scene over, and over, and over, and over...
Anyway, here's a Merlin/Nimue bit. I think the actress who plays Nimue is exceptionally pretty. That might just be me.
