damn it.

OK, I fully know that I'm not an idiot. Srsly. I do. But sometimes i do silly things that change people's estimations of my intelligence.

Like tonight. I count up the reserve at work and notice that it's 200 dollars over. Fuck, I think. OK, I double-check, but not very well, or I'd have noticed that I'd accidently added up a colomn wrong.

So I tell my current love-interest, thinking in the biased way that one thinks of one's love-interest that he'd be supportive, but no, that would be too unlike his actual personality. He tells Arjun (or I'm guessing he did. He spoke in Hindi so I can't be positive but considering Arjun's laughter and look of glee at me, I'd say it was probably something along those lines) and then he says to the manager "Ask about the reserve" and burst into HYSTERICAL LAUGHTER. Arrggghhhh!!!

Anyway, we fixed the problem and all, but my humiliation was IRREVERSABLE. It's annoying because it was a very small little error; one that anyone could make regardless of their intelligence. It wouldn't even be bothering me so much if I wasn't trying to prove my worth to these people.

Some would ask why I bother. Well, I like to be respected, I guess.

annoying, work
