Full and Fic Update

OK, so I'm losing weight at the moment, right, and I've been very disciplined about it. I keep getting worried that I'm starving myself, but I can convince myself that I'm not actually doing that, because I'm still eating at least 1500cal a day. That's not starving yourself, right?

Well, whether I'm actually starving myself or not, I still go to bed ( Read more... )

I was going to offer a few tips for foods that will keep you full, but the_opheliac more or less said them all.

I do find that wholegrains are more filling, and I need less brown rice, say, than I do white rice.

Also, I have a policy of doubling the amount of vegetables in any recipe, since I'd rather get more of my calories from them.

Also, protein keeps you full for longer than carbs, or so I believe. Certainly, tofu fills me up a lot quicker than rice.

All that writing is brilliant! Good luck keeping on top of it.

Mmm, yeah. It's interesting doing this type of thing, because you really start paying attention to the effect certain food has on you. Like (back to another fruit-hating rant) fruit doesn't fill me up AT ALL. Like, I'll eat an apple and banana, and they're both pretty big fruits, right, and I still feel like gnawing at the table when I'm done with that (and it takes me about 20 minutes to eat an apple, so it's not one of those eating-too-quickly things). Still, I persevere.
I do like my vegies. I've taken to making vagie pastas and korma and stuff, mainly because they're cheaper than meat and I'm a dreadfully poor uni student xd. But yes, I shall do that doubling thing.
Yeah, I'm really good at keeping on top of things, if I do say so myself, so hopefully that talent won't wane.

Beans and tofu may not be as exciting as meat, but they will provide protein and keep you full - and they're much, much cheaper. :)

Hi! I sent you an email with my takingitinturns fic, which you offered to beta - just wanted to check that you'd received it? If you can't do it now, it's not a problem, as I have another beta-reader on the case, too. But I'd like to post it before the weekend if possible. Would you mind letting me know? As I said, if you can't do it, don't worry about it, really. :) But thank you for offering.

lyras! hi!
I'm so sorry darling, but I've been away on holiday, and I'm really busy until the deadline, so I think that if I were to beta your fic I would do an absolutely rubbish job. I'm hoping you've found someone else to do it by now. If you'd still like me to do it let me know and I'll do what I can, and next time I promise I'll be completely on the ball.
