Monkey D. Luffy
Monkey D. Luffy is a pirate and the main protagonist of One Piece. He is the son of the Revolutionary Army’s commander, the grandson of a famed marine, the foster son of a mountain bandit and the adopted brother of Portgas D. Ace and Sabo. His lifelong goal is to become the pirate king by finding the legendary treasure left by Gol D. Roger. He is the captain of the Straw Hat Pirates, and a strong fighter with a reputation that precedes him. Luffy’s dominant traits are his apparent lck of intelligence, his utter fearlessness, and the loyalty he inspires in his crew. Indeed it is hard to just talk about him simply because he is so very defined by his relationships with both his crew and his stepbrothers, as well as by the compassion he feels for any random stranger he meets on the street.
Notes: This fanmix is about Luffy's personality pre-Whitebeard War, mainly because Ace's death is still breaking my heart every time I think about it. Some parts of it (like the Coldplay song) clearly reference his brother's death, however, and Kids on the Run is about Sabo as much as it is about Ace and Luffy. Overall, however, it's a mix about Luffy when he's happy, because that is his M.O. most of the time.
