Hi Helen, great to hear from you - I hope you're doing well. Are you in Wales still? I've been wondering for a long time about your interesting icon pic - may I ask what that represents? I'm getting the impression that he is perhaps an american indian?
Wales? LOL. No, I was only in Wales for two days. *grin* I'm currently in Wyoming, was in Texas last week preceded by Arizona and california. I'll be in Calgary for a few days starting Monday, then on to Wisconsin, where one of my stories is set, to do a bit of research.
About my icon...if you go to my journal profile page you'll find some song lyrics. I went off to search for a pic that went with them and came across a bigger version of my icon pic. It is actually a Chinese warrior from a film called Warrior (I think, I can't quite remember). Everyone thinks it is an Amerindian pic, but really it is just a representation of any kind of warrior. :) Thanks for asking :)
I really can't wait to listen to this new mix; I have the first two on my ipod with me, wlthough I admit that Jim Reeves ain't my fave!!! LOL
Helen, was looking for your song lyrics and, oh my god, I just read your drabble "Abandon" and I am just an emotional wreck - it is just beautiful! I'll be reading more of your writing immediately.
I knew some people would cringe upon hearing him, but Jimbo is there because of the lyrics of his songs - I know he's old-fashioned and outta step, even for back in the 60's! But in context with SN, it makes it sound as though it is one man singing to another, the main reason I included him. Not many other people recorded his songs either, with the exception of "I Can't Stop Loving You". Jack and Ennis would be familiar with him, probably hearing him on the radio a million times.
Gotta get back to your drabbles - after drying my eyes!
Hi again Tom :) I know how intensely difficult it is to find the right lyrics, so I am utterly in awe of you that you have now got three fanmixes done! One of my series has music/lyrics to accompany it and even trying to find just 10 songs where the lyrics don't have anything about girls/women in them has been a nightmare. I found one song which was absolutely perfect, but then about two lines from the end the guy mentions the word "girl" and bam, that was it, couldn't use it

How wonderful that you are going to make a fanmix! The songs you have chosen are very interesting. I need to give a lot of credit to planetgal471 (aka Shadow Princess) for pointing me in the right direction. Her first suggestion was to use iTunes to compile the fanmix. I observed how she made her covers and tried my best to emulate that with my modest tools and knowledge in that area. The best information she gave me was suggesting I join the LJ Fanmix community. Here is their resources link - I hope you will be able to surf there (if not, join the community and click on the tag "mod post", then scroll down the page and click on the "Resource" link

Helen, to clarify the above, if the Resource link does not resolve correctly or access is not allowed, go to http://community.livejournal.com/fanmix, click the "FAQ post" link, and then the Entry Tags: *_mod post at the top of the FAQ Post page. Then scroll down the MOD POST page and click on the "Resource" link. There is plenty there to assist you

I won't be able to download and listen till I get home *gnashes teeth*
I'm sure this is going to be fantastic and I can't wait till I get to listen to it!!
Tom, you're an absolute dream! xx
