So . . . I'm 26. How about that? Been a really good birthday. The black belt class sang for me. Which was only mildly embarrassing. Got a bunch of really neat stuff. Mum made me some convertable mittens for me. Made even cooler in that the yarn she used she spun herself. Very nifty. One of the dad's in the studio looked at me with this knowing smile and said "just four more man" and it took me a minute to connect those dots. But then I smiled and I said "if I wasn't happy with where I was or where I was going I'd be stressed about that. But I'm really happy with where I am so thirty isn't a real stressor for me." He laughed. And I had a little extra smile after having made the realization.
Work news: still improving Invinceable Wall. Sword Form almost done. Will probably give the end of it to people tomorrow. Really, really pleased with how well that came together in a short period of time. Starting to feel more and more like superman these days. Optimism is nice stuff. And feeling like a bad ass is nice stuff too.
Baseball thoughts: Rough end of the year for the Sox, but it was all kinds of fun. Manny is gone, totally dont' miss him. Really like how well Crisp played in the postseason. If he doesn't stay in Boston, next year I hope he gets a good payday somewhere that they'll appreciate him. Dude is one of the best deffensive center fielders in all of baseball. Youk (Kevin Youkilis) took over Manny's spot in the order behind Ortiz. And he did very well. Boston has a bunch of really admirable sorts of guys in the lineup. They're fun to watch, they're fun to cheer for, it makes it really easy to be a fan when you don't have to defend some ass hole like an Albert Belle, or a Barry Bonds. And so yeah, looking forward to next spring.
College Football Thoughts: UofL will not be significant next yea either. This is what happens when all of your deffensve secondary is primarily guys that played wide receiver in high school. Although Corner is one of the toughest positions to find a guy for in football on all levels.
Pro football thoughts: The Pats might actually be a spoiler team this year. It's very possible they'll be in the playoffs because their division sucks something wicked. But we'll see.
Pro Basketball thoughts: I actually really like the new NBA commercials with the slogan "Where Amazing Happens" they're really entertaining. The Celtics might not repeat this year. But they're going to be pretty damn good. And Leon Powe is fricken awesome. Thank you again folks at Cal. And I once again have to apologize to Rajon Rondo and the folks at UK. Dude has great ball handling skills. Reasonably good offensive ability. And he's got some of the best deffensive hands in all the NBA. Last year he almost broke the record for steals in a finals game. At some point if his offensive skills don't improve they'll probably draft or trade for a new point guard, but I really hope not.
