He likes going places...or at least is willing to go because I want too. He also doesnt care where we go or for how long if we have the time off. I have pretty much planned our NC trip and it is a long and fun filled trip and he didnt bat an eye. I am trying to not plan every little detail as spontaneity is fun but in the four days poor Brian will drive 22 hrs or so.
On Monday we are going to wake up and drive to Asheville and see Biltmore. I want to leave at 7 so we can get there 12-12:30 (it is open from 9a-6:30p). Typically when I think something will take all day it only takes a few hours. We will visit Biltmore and if there is other things in Asheville we will spend the night there. Other wise we will drive the three hours to Chappell Hill.
We will visit Chappell Hill on Tuesday...all day if we drive the night before or most of the day as Chappell Hill is about 4 hours from Asheville. In Chappell Hill there is a planetarium we want to see, an Arboretum, a botanical garden and other things. We will probably spend the night in Chappell Hill and leave for Cape Hatteras in the morning.
On Wednesday we will head out for the Naggs Head area. Cape Hatteras (within Naggs Head) is about 6 hrs from Chappell Hill. It has some pretty beaches and a really cool Lighthouse we want to see. We will spend the night at the Cape and spend the morning there as well before we head home. It should take bout 8 hours to get home.
That should conclude the NC tour...there isn't much there that we can get too in a day and our four day weekend (it is rare that we can work our schedules) is pretty jammed packed as it is. I do want to get home early Thursday as I will have to work in the morning. Brian should have the day off or if he picked up an extra shift it will be at night so he will have a chance to rest. I would love to end up in the Tennessee area so we can explore WV, the Northern western parts of NC and of course Tennessee but who knows where we will end up.
I would really like to create a similar map of Ireland with the map of the US. When I was in Ireland I starred on a map every place I went and I made a point to go someplace new every weekend. Some weekends were very quiet and remote and not very touristy which were fun in their own right and some had more to do but I got to see most of Ireland. I didn't get to the middle part as much but that is mostly country which I did get to see and was told by everyone Irish and American that there were better places to see first. So far SC is pretty much done, with this trip NC will be pretty much done and by the end of the summer GA will be done. I could visit every place but some are more worth it then others.
Brian's mom and maybe his sister and niece(s) are coming up a week from when we get back from NC. Because of the timing I was able to request the Thursday/Friday off again without messing with the schedule too bad and still getting my 40 hours a week. If they come up we will hang out with who ever comes. However, since they have not said if they are actually coming and they are do two weeks from now I am planning on what to do with that time off. We should not waste those two days we have together!
I am planning on doing one of our Georgia trips. Savannah and Atlanta are easy one day trips and since we will have 2 days off I don't want to waste it on something we can do spontaneously later in the summer. I want to go to Cumberland Island by St. Mary's Georgia which is 6 hours away. Cumberland Island has wild horses and things like that. So cool! Because it is further away (we are almost in FL at that point) I think it would work better as a two day trip then a one day.
It is a lot of traveling in a short amount of time but we both need the break from school and life. It will also hopefully help pass the time until December when Brian and I will hopefully know a little more about our future.
P.s. I should probably mention that when I say "we want to" it should read "I want to" as Brian just nods and says okay
