Haven't been on in a while, so here goes:
1. Sara, I'm sorry I missed your birthday, I don't mean to be a crappy friend. I hope you're having an awesome time and don't get kidnapped and sold into a japanese gypsy clan.
2. I've been working at LaRosa's for four years now and have just been promoted to Back-up Shift Manager.
3. Doug has a tumor. Some may remember me talking about his hip problems and a weird persistent muscle knot. He got it checked out about a year ago and they told him it was back problems and gave him some therapy exercises. Forward to the present and his hip is only getting worse. He visited his doctor again and they noticed his right leg doesn't move correctly, leading them to believe that his hip may be misshapen somehow... Which would mean hip surgery, (the worst and career ending scenario). So they scheduled him for MRIs and they noticed something strange. His hip was fine, but that muscle knot was not. They realized he had a tumor on his sciatic nerve. He had it biopsied on Monday, and they determined it's a Desmoid Tumor, a build-up of scar tissue that won't stop. We still don't know when they'll be able to remove it.
4. A girl I went to elementary school with called me earlier this week. It was unexpected, but a nice surprise.
5. They sold my grandmother's house. It's been a big battle between the buyer and my mom. It's a longer story than I care to retell online. They initially gave my mom three days to get the house completely cleared out. Which in normal circumstances is ridiculous, but this house my mom had already been working on for two years to get cleaned up. We got an extension for a week and the entire Lane side of my family came down to "help" (code word for: see what they could take now that everything was up for grabs....) On the last day I cried. A lot.
6. I've been applying for Veterinary Assistant jobs. Gone on a couple of interviews already. I should hear from one of them by this upcoming Monday. "Crossing the Fingers"
7. I'm going to school over the summer to try and play catch up. No summer rest for me, which means Doug and I don't get to go on vacation, but it's a necessary evil.
I think that's everything. Boes, come and visit me when you get back in town!!
