So i had a moral dilemma today.
i also realized that Lifeguards have a lot of time to philosophize, or rather, they can afford it.
thats something my professor didn't mention and i'm sure he's never thought of it, but it came up today in my brain.
we sit around for 8 hours a day watching all kinds of different people commingle, bicker, or exchange pleasantries but usually the latter two.
so anyways we do on occasion get some people that are handicapped as well.
there is a man with a prosthetic leg.
a blind woman.
and several other people who require help but those two are the most extreme cases, and we are NOT to ask them if they want help because it will "offend" them.
that blind woman has run into several people, guards, and smacked her forehead on a steel guard chair before, but if you ask her if she needs help she rips you apart.
so, i figure, it must be RUDe to ask these people out.
but today this woman who used a walking stick got out of the pool and was standing there for a minute or two. it looked like might need help but i didn't want to insult her.
an older guy called me over and told me she "might need help."
so i did go over there and help her, and she turned out to be very cool about it. i apologized and said that she shouldn't thank me because it wasn't my kindness it was actually the older mans but she was cool about it.....so anyways....my quesion is????
is it rude to point out peoples physical shortcomings in public?
or
is it rude to not help someone who clearly needs it?
or
am i just a moron.
i'm gonna go with C for now.
