So i have an interesting couple of days.
As in the Chinese Curse "may you live in interesting times" interesting.

Had a lovely evening catching up with folk and meeting new people at Lokis housewarming on Saturday night. Then got in my car for the 2 hour drive home, Happily driving along until going up the exceedingly steep hill leading into Upwey when my thermostat literally soared in 3 seconds into and over the red section of hellishly bad.
I swearing at the top of my lungs urged the car, pleaded, begged it to just f#$%king make it to the service station at the top of the hill, which thankfully it did, 80 km's an hour with engine wheezing and smoke billowing out the back.
To pull into the service station slamming my way out of the car and swearing proficciently and inventively at the top of my voice. Time 1.30am.

A lovely lady came over and asked if she could help as i wrenched open the hood of my veihicle to reveal rust coloured water sprayed all over the inside of my engine bay. What a lovely gesture to the slightly wild and incoherent me, was muchly appreciated and thanked but said probably wasn't much she could do for me but was most greatful for the offer. It does make a difference when people are nice to you even when you are behaving like a troll having a tantrum.

Any way, got the number for the RACV and settled in to wait 1.5 hours later RACV turns up looks at car, looks at me gets a watering can of water and poors it into the radiator and even without being able to see it in the dark we both could hear it gush out onto the road.
He turns to me and politely says "Sorry love think it's fucked" i nod, go what should i do, he says tow it to your mechanics? i don't have a mechanic so make a deal with the service station guy to park it next to the servo for the next 2 days till monday when i can find a mechanic in the area. Time 3.00am

I then get the number for the local taxi company in the area, who it turns out are having a very busy night.
I settle in and play some suduko on the phone and eventually an hour later a lovely taxi driver cames and drives me home. arrvie home Time 4am

Blarg how sucky my 2 hour trip home takes 4.5 hours ( iam to say slightly unimpressed with this) also not on the list of things to do when getting over phneumonia which had only started to back off that day.
Needless to say most of Sunday was spent feeling very unwell and sleeping.

Monday one of my workmates recommends me her mechanic, very kindly drives me to said mechanic who not only agrees to take and fix car, but that he will free of charge go and pick car up from service station and tow back to his workshop. Can we say Awesome, YES we most definately can.
So later in the day he rings to tell me, that the radiator has infact exploded under the pressure of whatever went wrong, shattering the casing out in 3 places and is,as we all know by now f#$%ked. But a new radiator is sourced and fairly cheaply thankfully.

So tuesday he rings to ask me a few questions.... conversation goes a bit like  "So does your car normally run at 200 degrees?"
um no 100 degrees.
"Oh. does the engine warning light normally stay on while you drive?"
No, not unless somethings wrong with the engine.
"Oh, and do you have trouble turning the ignition and the starter motor sticking"
NO!!
"hmmm and the engines making a pinging noise"
What do you mean the engines making a pinging noise?
"you know a pinging noise"
um whats making it do that?
"not sure we'll find out tommorrow, i'll call you when we know."

So sigh, Im not sure whats the matter, at the moment im stressed about what said "pinging" noises are, in my experience  generally nothing good. And praying to god that this doesn't completely bankrupt me,

Though i must say so far im really impressed with the mechanic, he has been informative treated me as an intelligent human being and not like some dumb blonde idiot. Has reassured me that the car is in actually good nick, obvious i take car of it, had relevant services etc and probably not my fault, as the radiator cap didn't release pressure and thermostat seems to be not doing anything at all. Which is fantastic, i was beginning to get paranoid that i'd killed my car through neglect :(

So far list of problems with car are
 Radiator - to be replaced
thermastat - Rooted to be replaced
 cooling system completely overhauled

a whole bunch of other stuff that we don't know what is wrong and whats causing it.

Oh and one of my lovely workmates has been picking me up and dropping me home from work, how awesome :) feeling the love

Also On the upside i made chicken soup with asian dumplings and Cookies for dinner.
Cookies make everything bettter, well at least more bareable.

Next installement tommorrow
