Superdelegates

Feb 16, 2008 14:14

I dislike the system the democrats have in place to elect their candidate for president. The candidate with the most delegates wins, but approximately 20% of the delegates can vote their own mind irrespective of what the majority of voters in their state decide. This is not democratic and borders on oligarchy.

Also, let us not forget that the National Democratic party stripped Michigan and Florida of their delegates because each moved their primary elections to earlier in the year.

This is hardly a system of the people, by the people, and for the people. It is really for the dealmakers and powerbrokers of the Democratic party. I am disgusted. I am also ashamed that I was so uninformed about the process prior to this election cycle.
