Election update 8...

If I get really bored later on I'm gonna make myself a rosette. Or maybe I'll just knit a scarf or something.

Labour currently hold 5 seats. This doesn't necessarily mean anything - Labour seats are usually the first to eclare because their constituancies are traditionally cities rather than rural areas and it takes less time to gather the votes together and count them. Apparantly the Labour vote is being 'fragmanetd' - traditionally Labour voters are now voting for pretty much anyone.

Up in Gateshead they have a painting-by-numbers election results map - every time a result comes in someone sprays the relevent constituancy with the correct party colour! That's gonna be hillarious by about 3am once everyone's been in the bar for a few hours and the results are coming in thick and fast.

Natasha Kaplinsky has just been interviewing Jon Culshaw from dead Ringers who's pretending to be george Bush at the BBC election party. I think I need to lie down for an hour.
