It strikes me as odd.

What? You talkin' to me?

Oh I was just making a post to the D-comm system, you see it strikes me as odd that the Digital World calender is designed the same way as that of earth. You'd think I'd have noticed sooner but it took me an entire year living here to realize it.

what's so odd about that? Well...it's not just that ( Read more... )

Three apocalypses?! What happened? Where were the HSATs at the time to let that happen?!

Um...well the first one was Zombies, the second was a robot uprising and the third was the opening of a portal to hell...my research doesn't show any indications of HSAT like beings except in the robot apocalypse but they were rather anti-human.

But, but, I wouldn't turn on humans... Why would they do so...

Hrmp, simple prototype. The machines figured out just how worthless biologicals are.

You will of coarse note that that apocalypse, while effective in it's own right did not last and the machines were beaten back by the human forces arriving from space using everything that organic beings have that mechanical ones do not.

In my time there are thousands of Automatons living amongst the organic population in piece...though I have yet to meet one quiet as advanced as the robots of this world.

Oh really? Then mind telling me what is it that organic beings have that mechanical beings do not? Is it the fact that you have to empty waste from your bodies in the form of bowel movements, or the fact that you can not consume non-organic forms energy? Or are you referring to this mythical idea of a soul?

Actually my dear devious destructess, you misunderstand my words. THAT apocalypse was averted because the machines weren't as far advanced as the ones of this world. Including as much as it pains me to say it yourself ( ... )

Crap, why did Alyssa have to rear her ugly face... ?

Kats, why is she talking to you like she knows you?

We may have had an incident...I happened to be passing by one of her attacks and...may have intervened.

Intervened?

How the heck do you intervene against something like that? She's a walking arsenal for crying out loud.

Um...I-I'm rather ashamed to admit this to another mechanical being really but...a quickly prepared computer virus that she unwittingly accepted through the D-comm rendered her helpless for a short minute or two. Long enough to rescue those she was tormenting and exchange some words.

I've been preparing something MUCH stronger but after being tricked before she wouldn't be so careless. To activate this virus would take a more...physical method.m

Physical contact isn't exactly an option with a HSAT most of the time. You know that, right?

You also know by actually doing something like that to her, you might have moved yourself near the top of her hit list as well, right?

I theorize that if her shield was sufficiently overloaded then I could produce a device that would forcibly download the virus into her if it could make contact...sort of like a spring loaded syringe for someone with allergies.

I-I am aware, but at the same time I couldn't simply allow her to kill the person she was tormenting...a-and after all the pain she's brought some of my friends in Neon I felt that I had to at least try.

yep, we're doomed.

Provided you even manged to get the shield down, which is a tall order in of itself. You also have to deal with the fact that her VERAM unit has probably evolved by now. There is no guarantee that you new virus will be any more effective then the last.

Kats, I really think you should come to DATS Neon for protection. If she catches you out there by yourself....

I have prepared for that as well. Utilizing a drive with photonic converter I was able to replicate the atmospheric encryption of the Lexorian processors ultimately resulting in what would be a theoretical reverse of the functions of her VERAM unit.

I-I'm afraid I can't do that Miria. I have people out here who depend on me and aren't particularly liked by DATS.

... Did you get any of that Miria, because it went right over my head.

... I think I did, and I think is was tried before in my world in an attempt to remove my VERAM unit from me. It backfired horribly, and almost killed several people as Exemplar went berserk in an attempt to protect me.

But then again, Alyssa's VERAM unit is most likely yo be a production model instead of an original from the ship...
