Nintendo update...

Thought I would list a few headlines I saw this week...

1.) Barron's named Iwata one of the worlds best CEOs due in part because of the Wii. Nintendo stock has risen 85% in the last year to about $35 a share. We make 33% profit from our Revenue (HUGE!) despite selling less expensive product than our competitors. Our cash store now equals about $6 Billion.

2.) Games Industry Biz reported that the Nintendo DS has reached 3 million units in the UK and has 68% of handheld market. It has been on sale in the UK for 2 years.

3.) The Wii is still sold out in most stores, for February '07 in the US, 371,000 copies of WiiPlay for Wii, 262,000 copies of Diddy Kong Racing for DS, 130,000 copies of Zelda for Wii were sold. We sold 485,000 Nintendo DS's, 335,000 Wii's compared with 228,000 Xbox360's (not too bad) and 127,000 PS3s. What's sad is that we sold nearly 10,000 more GameBoy Advance's than Sony sold PS3's.

Total Sales, Wii, 1.9 million, Xbox360 5.1 million (it's been a full year longer), PS3 1.1 million.
