Wow....I'm energized!
Just when you think that maybe you sorta screwed up and were kinda lost with what you'd been doing with your life... sometimes you get a bit of reassurance. I went to the .NET meeting tonite. It was sorta a fluke that I found out about it. But I decided that since I didn't have anything planned and they were going to have pizza, a speaker, and door prizes; it'd be something worth going. Well I got there and quickly realized that I recognized the guest speaker. He's a guy from Microsoft that I had invited to AITP to speak for us about 3 years ago. Oddly he remembered talking to me too...was sorta wierd that he remembered some major details. Made me feel good as who knows how many people he's talked to over the last few years to remember details about this one time convo. So if anything maybe I sorta stand out in a good way in the field. :)
I had a really good time and got some free beta software. Also I found out about some free training classes next Thurs and Friday here in Fay if anyone is interested. Anyhoo...the point of this message was to say that I do like computers and I do like programming. Unfortunately I find the programming for work to be boring while the stuff that was mentioned at the meeting was very interesting to me. Granted it was more visual based...which is my thing...so *shrug*
Regardless it felt really nice to sorta get back to doing things that I had liked before. Almost like I was back in AITP and college. So I plan to start attending all the meetings and being active. If anyone else is interested...let me know.
