So, I was talking to the fangirl collective and saying that I can't figure out how someone isn't kissing Will or getting kissed by Will at all times because seriously boy has a purty mouth! AHEM

look, it's total crack. (magnus/kate, teasing the boys)cata_clysmiicJune 30 2011, 05:39:41 UTC
It's way too late. There's a puddle of tequila in the middle of the scrubbed wooden table and nobody has cleaned it up, nobody can even remember how it got there. Kate's got some Indian dance music pumped from her ipod into the stereo in the corner of the kitchen, and there's about eighteen slices of limes scattered on the cutting board by the sink.
"One, two...three!" Will's voice is slurred and four hands throw back four shots of various liquors. What follows is a brief silence followed by raucous laughter and wordless exclamations and the clinking sound of bottles and glasses shuffling as more shots are poured.
"Midnight shots party," Magnus says as she licks the remnants of salt from her wrist. "Inspired, if I do say so myself."
Will nods and sways while Henry claps a hand to his back and adds an emphatic, "Best idea you've ever had, doc."
"I used to do this all the time with the boys back in my old circles," Kate leans back, gesturing vaguely, drunkenly, as if the past was something solid and could indeed be gestured to. "It usually ended up with people making out on countertops. Actually usually it was me and Jennifer making out on countertops while everyone else watched."
Magnus raises a single brow with surprising composure but her eyes are crossing slightly. "How juvenile." But she leans so that her elbow is now resting on the back of Kate's chair.
Kate shrugs and reaches to take another shot. She toasts with Magnus, and the two women throw the shots back silently.
Will and Henry watch, and blink stupidly. "Yeah," Will nods. "Totally lame. The making out thing."
"So high school," Henry adds. "It wouldn't be cool at all if we like, started making out with each other."
Will makes a face and attempts to shake his head in disagreement (it comes out all wobbly), but both of them look slightly, drunkenly hopeful.
"Exactly. For instance, it would be completely ridiculous," Magnus says, "if Kate and I kissed right now."
"Oh, totally. It would be totally unprofessional. I work for you, doc." But Kate and Magnus are exchanging easy grins, like this is a conversation that they've rehearsed before.
The boys look like they aren't sure whether they're being chastised or rewarded when Magnus leans closer to Kate and slips a finger beneath a black curl, lifting it from her neck, and Kate's gloved fingers play gently against her boss's cheek while they peer at each other under alcohol-heavy eyelids.
"It could invite heaps of awkwardness into our work environment," Magnus says matter-of-factly. Kate's thumb has drifted across Magnus's lower lip, which she pouts out slightly and then runs her tongue across.
"Yeah, definitely. The awkward thing." Kate repeats distractedly and the music seems far too loud when her lips brush the corner of Magnus's mouth in a kiss that's both terribly innocent and incredibly erotic.
They pause, and both glance back over to the boys at this juncture. Will is holding his empty shot glass with a death grip and it looks like Henry has stopped breathing. The moment stretches for at least ten seconds and then:
"Well that's about my limit," Magnus announces and slides her chair out from the table. The tension snaps like a rubber band and it takes another few moments for the boys to backpedal their thoughts. Meanwhile Kate is swallowing one last mouthful of tequila and taking Magnus's offered hand with an easy "Mm, right there with ya, doc. Definitely past my bed time."
"I'll walk you," Magnus says. She throws a look over her shoulder. "I'll push the nine am meeting to ten. Drink lots of water before bed and when you wake. Don't forget the new rosters, Will. Henry, remember the call logs I asked for. Sleep well, boys."
They slip out the doorway and disappear.
There's at least a full minute of dead air before Henry voices the obvious, "'tha fuck was that?" and Will takes a gulp of air and starts pouring more shots.
"Honestly? I think that was just another Thursday night at the Sanctuary."
