Mobile Magic

I've got my new Windows Mobile device and I've been playing with it over the weekend. I don't hold out much hope for doing much in the way of software development on it from my Mac, which is a bummer. I'll have to settle for using it for related notes and maybe web-based stuff.

However, I did find something I think is awesome: Opera Platform.

Basically, this is konfabulator/Dashboard widgets for Nokia S60 handsets. Which isn't terribly useful for me and my Windows Mobile handset, but for people using S60 (which dominates the smartphone market worldwide) this is a really easy way to make little applications for your handset, which could have technopagan uses.

Once I'm back at work, I'm going to swap my current work-supplied handset for an S60 one and I might spend some time over Christmas and New Year hacking on this, as doing it from a Mac shouldn't pose a problem.

Just thought I'd let people know about this, since it should really open up mobile device programming to a lot more people and since these are devices we carry around with us everywhere there's a great deal of technomagic potential.
