I havent heard of a grimoire, though there was a humorous series of god-statues made a few years ago that included Surfus, god of surfing.

Now if you want to write a Grimoire, I'm sure you'd find support . . .

...and Surfus doesn't always have the smoothest relations with Neptune, creating a situation which we call... Surfus tension?

If there is a patron deity of computers, it must be Eris, the Goddess of Chaos!

Hail Eris! All Hail Discordia!

Enki's been considered by some to be a patron deity of hackers, and let's not forget that redhead up North.

She seems to like Usenet a whole lot. It's hard to find anything amidst all that crap, but when you do it's usually very useful.

Now, I have always utilized popular culture, sci-fi, and fantasy, as well as mythology and folklore into my practice, so this will make sense when I say, of course, Lain. (From Serial Experiments Lain). We've (my bf technomancer and I) have found Her very helpful from time to time. Oh, and Kusanagi from Ghost in the Shell.

You could probably utilize a Lag Monster to help slow enemies down, but I think the other two entities are more effective.

You're joking, right?

Nope. And I bring up these two under the notion of "cataloging" for a grimoire of 'net entities, as you will. (Have had this discussion in other circles, the "So What's in the Net" discussion.)

A modern mythic form is no less legit than any "older" one, especially given that any other godform is not conceptually utilized today as it would've been in it's original period. So, no real difference utilizing popular culture thoughtforms. There's even, *gasp* a book on it--Pop Culture Magic, by Taylor Ellwood. (teriel

Also, as a modern day bard, I utilize modern myths in my own work as well as more standard fare.

I was joking abt Lag Monsters, though, moreso. :)

No, my partner is not joking. We work with Lain from time to time.

I've yet to try working with the Major but Lyssa has an interesting relationship with Her.

Mercury/Hermes?

You could maybe look at creating rune charms for those purposes and draw/put them in appropriate places, either in the computer proper or in your workspace, or comment them in to any programming projects (though I guess you'd have to type them in phonetically, instead of using images).

The first site I found on this is here, I don't know how legit it is, but the author knows enough to know that the blank rune isn't an original part of the Elder Futhark.

I'm not really well-read in runes at all so I can't explain any more than that. But it seems like it might be a useful idea.
