Electronic Grounding

I recently obtained a new desk which gives me a nice large space on which I found it very convenient to do Tarot readings. I found, however, that I didn’t feel right grounding in my computer chair. The lack of ass to carpet contact was unnerving ( Read more... )

Well I COULD just walk into the next room and tell you, but I thought I'd give your comments some fan serviceP). I guess the main grounding approach I have is the Qabalistic Cross from the Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram. It involves standing relaxed, and imagining all the light/energy in the universe condensing into a basketball sized sphere far above your head. I then raise my arm and with index finger(acting as dagger) draw it down as it becomes a shaft of light that goes through me and down forever. The same from right to left, until I am at the center of the universe (dramatic, I know). All the while I'm vibrating particular words, the traditional being in Hebrew:
ATEH(Thou Art)
MALKUTH(the Kingdom)
VE-GEBURAH(and the Power)
VE-GEDULAH(and the Glory)
LE-OLAM(for ever)
AMEN

I've modified it bit, but want to do more. I've been working on finding words that resonate more with me. Although I recognize the power in the words, for me it's more about the phonetical power of the words that hit the right notes, physically. It may a little too "hermetic" for your tastes, and it's very traditional I know. But it works well for me. I tend to do something else that's very effective and a lot more personal, but it's really hard to put into words.

I definitely like the idea of online grounding. It makes perfect sense, and may have to try it, when it feels appropriate.:X
