today i will be casting a distributed rave spell that will synchronize the thought patterns of all participants and emanate a sense of well-being that will hopefully spread throughout the social network.
you will need:
a computer with a broadband internet connection and sound card
a pair of headphones or speakers + cool coworkers or an empty house
you will receive:
a big boost of energy and a feeling of euphoria
maybe some exercise
a carrier file that you can delete if you don't like and burn if you do
instructions:
1. sometime before lunch, download this mp3 (100 mb) containing the carrier signal. DO NOT PLAY IT.
2. sometime before 3:00 p.m. (eastern) go to this website and synchronize your computer's clock with it to the second.
3. around 3:30 start paying more attention to the time and alert your coworkers that they may hear some unusual sounds coming from your work area. if you have headphones go ahead and put them on. think about what is about to happen.
4. open this image in a browser window and look at it for a minute or two. if possible keep it visible for the duration of the spell.
5. at precisely 3:41 p.m. and 52 seconds eastern time (watch the clock!) begin playback of the carrier in your music player. do not skip through the carrier signal after it has begun or you will LOSE SYNC. begin with the volume set to a moderate level. control unwanted bass - go for balance. turn the volume up when you like what you hear and down when you don't. you may turn it off at any time with no ill effects. you may continue to work while synchronizing but you may accidentally be more productive than usual. while listening you may remind yourself that there are others like you and they are on your wavelength. they are feeling what you feel right now. wonder who they are and what they are doing during the sync. i will be on an airplane on my way to visit a friend nyc.
6. when the transmission is complete, go home if you're not there already. it's the weekend man.
