I'm down on Fort Myers Beach with
capital_l and the rest of my family (will be absolutely *everybody* in the immediate family after 8pm tonight) for a combined Thanksgiving-and-wedding vacation. It's been like a growing zoo since Monday afternoon---every few hours another flight would land and more siblings show up. Coordinating meals is a bit of a challenge, but has worked so far. Thanksgiving day dinner will be mostly "catered" by Whole Foods. My sister S is making the cranberry sauce, and sister A is making two cheesecakes. I donated to this event by renting the house and choosing the win (and ordering the pizza last night). The beach is very pretty: the sand is made of finely-ground sea shells, there are palm trees everywhere, the house (being in stilts) wobbles a little, and the sunsets are very colorful and happen surprisingly fast.
I also took a fan boat ride through the mangroves at the edge of the Everglades. It was very fun and a little scary. The driver, a polite older gentleman, knew drifting just as thoroughly as any Initial-D character, though I didn't record any video of that part of the ride. Here is a video of the second-speediest part of the ride:

There's a James Bond marathon going on now, I think I might join some of the spouses in the living room. Have a happy Thanksgiving, everyone. I find myself thankful for my terrific wife, a big and fun family, and for the greatness (in number and generosity and awesomeness) of my friends.
