http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2009/nov/14/birmingham-christmas-lights-crowd-surge I was there. Not as one of the screaming teenyboppers, mind you, but I WAS keen to see the other acts, apart from JLS. There was such a good lineup, so I was gutted when it was cancelled. I can see why, but still.
I want to know why they let so many people in, if they only had provision for 5,000? Looking back, I can definitely see evidence of them only providing for a small number of people - the sound system was terrible, you could barely hear unless you were nearish the front; the 'big' screen was neither big, nor high enough up for most people to see it, etc, etc. I can't believe they didn't expect that many people, considering it involved the UK's top acts...what genius decided that?
*pout* I wanted to see Taio Cruz, Sugababes, Tinchy Stryder, Little Boots, Pixie Lott and everyone :(
