Christmas Eve 2008.
After abruptly being put on "administrative leave" last week for a difference in my vault (which was accounted for and known to me and my manager); I was interrogated yesterday, yelled at, told I was "walking in circles around the truth" and "not getting my stories straight" (it was quite dramatical, really) about instances which I could only account for as accidental or possibly chalk-up to being simple "clerical errors" I was (in one of the most cheery and informative faceless phone calls) informed that I have been terminated.
Now, yes. I was "aware" that I had incorrectly receipted a transaction ($100 in dollar coin rolls), however since the party whom actually owned the money was absent from work that day I set the task of fixing the error aside until said party returned to work. As it turns out, intending to fix mistakes by way of completing paperwork to prove a transaction had gone awry is a gross violation of policy and therefore, "grounds for termination".
G.I. Joe lied. Knowing is not half the battle. Also, never work for a company that doesn't have an employee union. If you make a mistake, you have no one on your side and you can and most likely will be fired (*ahem* terminated).
ps. Does anyone know how to file for unemployment? I don't see myself getting a job anytime soon, as the current economic climate is not quite the environment for a college drop-out/re-enrollee desperately seeking employment so he and his girlfriend can finally get their shit together, get married, and move out.
pps. Merry Christmas.
Almost forgot.
