See Me

A vortex of powder not far away called me in still darkness of the night. Things were happening; a strange convergence of the mystical powers of the Hellmouth and everyone I cared about was in trouble.

Long and tedious hours of moving things, well trial and error, the monotony of it all, so many times I almost gave up. But the whiff of his cologne, the sound of his laugher they were my motivation. On that day, when he would cross dimensions and be in my arms, it was my greatest desire that he know I’d been there to help. He had an angel watching over him, and didn’t even know it.

No, I lied; being with him now was my greatest desire.

During his early morning shower, I’d written Jenny in the sweet steam skin covering the ornate mirror. It had taken him so long, I didn’t know if he’d seen it.

Back in his private study, I could now read, ‘Howard’s End.’ His approach distracted me. Looking up it hit me.

An Orb, why the man insisted on keeping them as paperweights, I don’t know how many he’d had, maybe it was a security measure against Angel.

Picking it up, it began to glow. I sat there, waiting.
