It's 2009! ZOMG! Well it's been 2009 for 25 days but, who's counting? But, I think now is as good a time as any to put some goals out there to keep myself accountable.
First off I'll start with exercise since everyone likes that. Well, Alison started working out so I can't let her beat me so I started working out as well basically! Well really last year I would workout on Saturday and Sunday and just run for a bit and do light weights nothing fancy. I haven't done anything since Christmas however, so I had to start it back up. However, I am going to go on a full out assault! Not just the weekend but, practically everyday beside lets say Friday (since I skipped Friday this week ><). Now this will sound sorta lame but, I realized that my workout schedule that I had last year was based on my old time schedule (i.e. World of Warcraft **shutter**) where I would have time on weekends and not during the week. I quit that gosh I don't know when, March or April or something of last year but, I kept with the same schedule. That's changed now.
I started on Wednesday, that was sorta lame I ran way to fast using one of the presets on the treadmill sorta killed myself. Not a good start. Thursday was better, paced myself a bit better. Friday~..... Saturday I realized that I actually can run with my headphones on so that's good. I also learned that Tiesto + Running = Awesome as long as I don't fall off the treadmill which I sorta almost did. Need to work on that. Then today same thing as yesterday though it seems my Zune (old hard drive based one) does not like vibration very much, so I need to fix that problem somehow as it's very difficult to restart my zune while running without falling off.
I think the basic goal at first will be at least three miles and I think I'll use Wednesday to start ramping it up a little adding a mile or so. Once it gets warmer I want to move from my apartment's exercise room to the river trail by my work because why not. But right now I'm making sure I can stick with this schedule especially after work before I spend any money on exercise stuff for the river (mainly a place to put my zune and maybe something to track miles).
That's the basic plan for now. Also, I went out to Whole Foods yesterday (not necessary but I was in the area) and I got a bunch of stuff that I have to actually cook. So that's the 2nd goal I need to start cooking more, I really dislike coming home and having to think of what I am going to eat and it just be like soup or cereal or a sammich and that's it. So the big things will be I got some chicken and I got some tuna steaks so hopefully that will be good.
Let's see also I want to cut down on the stuff in my apartment even more aggressively. Mainly, I'm working (meaning to work on) my closet right now. I think there is still some stuff in there I can donate, but recently I got rid of a good amount of shirts and sweaters which were old and too big. I'm also going to try to just use what I have, I brought in like five pairs of pants/shorts to the alteration place yesterday to get those fixed so I don't have to work about that any more. Alison has helped because she got me some fancy accessory hangers (Thank you <3) just need to place them better. I still don't know what I want to do with all my cds and dvds, I like having physical media but, I never really use physical media so whatever ya know? I need to burn everything again and place it on a external drive just in case and maybe get some fancy box (damn you container store!) to get them out of site better. I still actually have my five disk CD stereo system which is pretty sweet but, I only really use it for the radio. That's too much about that.
Also, another thought on getting things together is that this year I will move, I'm about 90% sure that this will happen. When it will happen I have no idea. Where? Well unfortunately, that is leaning towards Dallas but, at the very least it would be a step up from Little Rock. I finally talked with my "new" manager and the basically my main thrust is going to be to get this one project done for my market by the end of the year. Now, I can do that from Little Rock, so I'm not sure if I am going to work on this project from Little Rock and get it done then be allowed the opportunity to transfer somewhere else (i.e. Basking Ridge, NJ !!) or if they would still want me (force me) to move to Dallas. Or if during the project they want me to move to Dallas to finish the project, and in that case I would finish the project and then try to transfer out of there.
That's the two paths I see right now. It's really up to Verizon (oh yeah I work for Verizon Wireless now, well technically on Feb 8th, but whatever) if they want to pay for relocation and office space etc, multiple times. Either way I do have to say I do like my job, I'm happy I have a job, and at the very least thank god I work for a national company now that gives me the opportunity to move around the country a bit, unlike Alltel which had only a few offices really and none anywhere super fun.
So that's whats going to be going on in general. I want to post more too (who doesn't) but, not this long just had to set up the year.
Peace!
p.s. Window 7 is fun ^^
