I love my job.
I just got paid to spend a couple hours in the shop, playing with lights.
You remember back when you were six or seven or so, and a flashlight was the most fun thing in the world? This is like that, except each light is brighter than a car's high beams, and there's lots more of them. And they're all individually controllable.
And then there are the effects lights. You know, the ones that shoot colored spots of light all over the place, that change color and move around to the beat of the music? We've got eight of the things.
Of course, I had to test that they all did, in fact, work, which meant I had to hook up a speaker to my laptop and play some music while I worked...
Best day at work ever. It is, however, soon to be one-upped. I get to use about half of the lights in a concert on Friday, being put on by the Electronic Music Association. I love everything of theirs that I've heard, so this is going to be a very fun evening.
