Speaking of piracy, I need to pirate meself a new laptop - the number of cords this thing needs to keep itself happy just increased again. Apparently, the speakers are getting some cross-talk from the monitor power signal - they pop something terrible, and they keep doing it. It turns out, however, that plugging in headphones makes the problem go away - the headphones don't pop, and the speakers stop doing it.
So now, instead of just needing to cart the power supply around everywhere (because it gets, like, ten minutes of battery life), I need to carry a pair of headphones as well.
Bloody annoying little thing... If it had legs (and I could spare the doubloons), I'd make the scurvy dog walk the plank, and hire on a new one.
