anime
I watch a lot of anime. Mostly because of my brother. My taste in anime is largely moulded by his tastes since I don't keep track of series as avidly as he does and end up checking out what he's downloaded. Mixed with my own tastes, that means I'll watch pretty much any genre if it can keep my interest. I've been watching anime since around 2002-2003 where it would take me 2-3 days (continuously) to download a 180MB file on my crappy 56kpbs dial up. Thank goodness we now have ADSL2+ XD
baking
Firstly, let me say that I suck at cooking, hence I will claim to hate it. That being said, I love baking things. I don't know why really, but I love making sweets, brownies and cakes especially. Mostly they end up as gifts for friends or neighbours if my brother doesn't get to them first. That being said, I'm no better at baking then I am at any other sort of cooking ^^;
evangelion
I think this was the first Japanese thing that I ever saw. In 1997 I think. It was even before I saw Pokemon. It's sort of like a first love that I can't seem to shake even though my tastes have changed somewhat in the last 10 years. Though, I'm excited for the upcoming movies (and the live action if it ever gets off the ground...). To this day, I think it's one of the better anime I've watched if not somewhat depressing and screwy. I really think that had I not encountered this when I was younger, my love of Japanese culture wouldn't be as strong, so for that alone, I'm eternally grateful to this show.
jdramas
If I didn't incessantly download Jdramas, I would save roughly 20-30GB a month. And that's coz I limit myself. I really only watch Jdramas coz I like hearing Japanese. Strange I know. I tried watching some Kdramas, but the ones I watched were so long and melodramatic I had to give up. For someone used to jdramas, they just seemed to drag on and on. Same for Cdrama/TWdrama. They just go for too long and the acting styles and mannerisms sorta annoy me ^^;
manga
I like manga for the light entertainment that they provide while being easy on the eye. I read a lot of manga online as well as buying the ones I really like. When I first started collecting manga, I never thought it'd come to what it is now, that is 200+ volumes of various genres and mangaka.
ohno satoshi
I think this one is pretty self explanatory. Of course I love all of Arashi, but I like Ohno especially. It's not really for his looks since if I'm completely honest, I never thought he was good looking until after he became my ichiban. Horrible huh? But there was a time where having been Jun-baited initially, I was sorta moving between ichibans as I watched more of their stuff and learned more about them. And then out of nowhere I realised that I liked him best and had been unconsciously watching him for a while. Aside from his obvious skills with dancing, singing and arts, there's something else about Ohno appeals to me and even now I'm not quite sure what that is.
subbing
I don't even remember exactly why I started subbing. I think I was bored on a summer's day so I asked Nyanchan if I could try subbing a shukudai episode since I'm lazy and I wanted to see the subs rather than reading the translation. I never intended to release to the public since I'd never subbed before and I was pretty bad at it. Since then I've subbed 20+ shukudai episodes and several other things since joining STORMY team sub and though I don't have as much time on my hands as I used to, I love subbing coz I get to meet new people (like everyone at STORMY team) and get to hone my Japanese with Arashi specific grammar and vocab XD
