ramblings II
I think I'll be posting like this a lot more often so I figured I'd keep track of how many there actually are! :P
+ LIFE UNDER A ROCK. Hmmm, life in general is a bit hectic at the moment and it looks like it'll be like that for at least another month or so. I haven't even been on for a week or so, since the last post below, I swear I'm getting withdrawal symptoms! >_<
Anyways, I've been revising and I can't believe the amount of knowledge that I've managed to LOSE in the last 5 years! Just today a simple deductive geometry problem completely owned me, and chemical nomenclature? Pfft, forget it! I can hardly remember the numbered suffixes! I even called in favours from friends in terms of revision books and material that I think I might need coz I haven't done physics since year 12. Needless to say, I have a lot to learn in the next month so I'll apologise now for my absence and not commenting on posts or replying to comments m(_ _)m
+ STEP AND GO. Heard it for the first time today while watching the PV. I think... it's okay. It wasn't as dancy as I thought it'd be. It's sorta catchy in that generic pop sort of way, but honestly, I'm a bit disappointed. I know I'm talking about a group from Johnny's, the boyband factory of Japan, but I still wish the song was a bit more interesting. It just seem too formulaic all the way from pairing Ohno with Jun for vocals (which produces great sounds I know) to Sho's rap (I love that Sho writes it himself, but it sounded really really like the rap in [We can make it!] especially the "step step and step..." bit) to Ohno's solo (which I actually love, and it's probably there coz he is that good, but nonetheless..)
I really wish they'd go back to the 2001-2003 sounds where it was less poppy, or even stuff like on TIME coz stuff like [Cry for you] or [Firefly], just stuff that isn't so ... sweet. Anyways, those are the thoughts of someone who is simply a consumer and is completely music stupid, so don't stone me m'k? I already live under a rock as is :P
+ STEP AND GO PV. Again, I'm really not sure how I feel about it yet. The bright colours blinded me :D But that aside, I didn't mind the slo-mo really. There were some go shots in there, but there were also some pretty weird ones where they had the weirdest faces XDDDDD
But my favourite feature of the PV has to be the words. How considerate of them to put captions on for those of us who can't understand their engrish! XDDDDDD Seriously. I loved it, though some of it seemed a bit redundant :P Oh and Sho's rap, I already said that the rap seems really similar to [we can make it!] right? Well, the actions are similar too! Like when he puts his hands to the side of his head? Is it just me?
And of course how can I leave Nino's superboy cape alone? JUST WHAT THE HECK WAS THE STYLIST THINKING? It honestly looks like a kid's blanket to me, which is actually amusing, but Nino's entire wardrobe for the PV is a big no-no for me. The other's aren't quite as bad coz they do look good, especially Ohno and Aiba, though it does look like the stylist just got lazy and popped down to the local Supre or Jay-Jay's (which are known for bright, cheap, trendy, wear for one season only clothes) and bought miscellaneous things for them.
In any case, I don't think it's the worst PV out there, but it felt sterile at times, but otherwise, it's alright with me *shrugs*
+ FREESTYLE. Just downloaded the softcopy coz I can't wait for hard copy to come :P
That Ohno has talent I don't think anyone can dispute, but those figures? SCARY AS! That they have the exact same face is a bit off putting for me even though I know the reason why they do. More than anything though, I loved the hats on the figures. Some of them were exquisite!! I just loved seeing the different ones especially some that were really complicated with feathers and ribbon everywhere. And considering the size of them, I'm even more awed~
And I keeled over when I saw the shots of him in the back XDDDDDDDDD Just what is he wearing? Besides the suit, he looks a bit fruity, especially the purple one where he looks like a bat XDDDD I can't even think of the style he's dressed in. Well, that aside, I think he looks good, he looks young and refreshed :D OH, and butt shot? Made my H!fangirl heart smile XD
+ JUST NOW. My bro just peeked over my shoulder to see what I was doing and saw how long this entry is already and asked why I was writing an essay XDDDDDD And I think my own eyes have gone all @_@ from the black on white as well, so I think that's my cue to end this thing huh?
